UltiTag

In this training video, Noah introduces a new game modification – UltiTag – where powered-up defenders can tag attackers out of the game. Players learn the value of quick disc movement, off-disc movement downfield to pull defenders away from spaces, and are forced to make uncomfortably early throwing decisions.

4v2 Rondo

Sai introduces this fun warmup game which is easy to set up and gets everyone moving. Overbalanced offence must penetrate and dribble to initiate aggressive flow, whilst defence must think about the next pass.

Edgezone Keep-disc

This drill is also described in Travis Norsen’s “The Ultimate Resource”, it’s a keep-disc variation designed to get players to bounce the disc off the sidelines quickly by staying out wide and facing inwards, as well as practicing quick disc movement, decision making and throwing under pressure. Full video here.

Bounce-Dribble Initiation Drill

This drill trains players to initiate flow after receiving a pass. They catch, throw a break, beat their defender, receive the bounce off their teammate, and start a dribble. Access via the Training Tier on Patreon – free disc after your first 2 payments.

2-line Up-line Drill

Simón Ramírez Ortiz, a player on the Colombian National teams and Furious George, introduces a throwing exercise (throw’n’go focus) and the 2-line Up-line Drill at a snowy session in Vancouver, Canada. This content is available to Training Tier Patrons only.

Triangle Double Dribble Drill

This is a quick drill for training give-go double dribble technique, quick hands, and disc fluency. Players are challenged to think on their feet whilst sustaining flow. Full video available to Training Tier Patrons.

Mooncatchers Give-Go Warm Up Drill

Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to Mooncatchers training with Stef Pazzo, and coach of Mooncatchers Pierre-Alain was kind enough to let me film Moon’s flowy dish pass warm up drill. This drill marries simplicity – every person does the same thing every time – with a high density of touches on the disc. I think it would be a great drill to add the the repertoire of any team who likes to take these small dish passes. Available for Training Tier patrons.

More Keepdisc Variations!

This month we gathered together some footage from a few sessions where we ran some of our favourite keepdisc variations. These rulesets all help with positioning and spacing of the players off the disc, as well as working on core throwing, catching, and decision making skills.

Sliding Puzzle Drill / Space Session Plan

This exercise trains players ability to recognise space, to create space for each other, to communicate / cooperate with teammates, and to use space on the field. It’s a flexible drill so I talk about many additions, modifications, and keepdisc game conditions which can be used to run a full session on Space.
